Insulin Resistance

Insulin resistance and poor gut health form the foundation of most every chronic disease, progressing slowly and then compounding quickly.

Our Approach

We’re here to help you heal your gut and feel like yourself again. We’ll listen closely to what you’ve been experiencing and work with you to gently support your metabolic health.

INTERMITTENT FASTING
Time‑based eating, often called intermittent fasting, has been associated with a wide range of health benefits, including:

  • Healthy blood pressure
  • Improved heart health
  • Better body composition
  • Brain health and stamina
  • Managing blood glucose
  • Lowering the risk of metabolic syndrome

It sounds great — but it’s also hard. Most people struggle to stick with intermittent fasting long enough to see meaningful results.

That’s where the Feel Great System comes in.

Unimate supports the body’s natural GLP‑1 production, helping you feel full longer, while Balance adds essential fiber to support satiety even further. Together, they help stabilize blood sugar and reduce hunger, making it easier to extend the time between dinner and your first meal the next day.

MEAL PLANNING

We’ll help you prioritize healthy, satisfying food choices that support balanced blood glucose and insulin levels. Together, we’ll focus on meals built around protein, healthy fats, and fiber‑rich foods — the combination that keeps you full, energized, and metabolically steady.

This isn’t another strict diet or short‑term fad. Your plan is tailored to your goals, your lifestyle, and your preferences, using tools backed by science and designed to create results that last.

GUT BALANCE

A healthy gut barrier is essential for digestion, immunity, and overall metabolic balance. When that barrier becomes compromised — often called “leaky gut” — it can contribute to inflammation, bloating, food sensitivities, and difficulty maintaining stable blood sugar.

If you’d like a deeper, science‑forward explanation, you can explore the full breakdown on our Education page. But here on the home page, we’ll help you understand the basics and how simple daily habits can support a stronger, more resilient gut.

INDIVIDUALIZED GUIDANCE

Your health journey is personal — and your guidance should be too. We take the time to listen closely to your goals, your challenges, and your unique health history. From there, we offer recommendations that fit your life, your rhythms, and your long‑term wellbeing.

This isn’t one‑size‑fits‑all coaching. It’s thoughtful, individualized support designed to help you feel confident, capable, and cared for every step of the way.

How Did We Get Here?

It's not your fault and we're here to help!

We can relate many symptoms of IR to the modern food environment and our lifestyles.  Understanding this and then having the right tools is the key to reversing it. Below are a few of them.

Frequently Asked Questions About IR

What is Insulin and Insulin Resistance (IR)?

Insulin is an essential hormone produced in the pancreas that affects every part of the body. It has many functions but it's mainly known for its role in regulating blood glucose levels. It is the gatekeeper to allowing glucose into the cells.

IR is when insulin remains high in the blood over time. This can cause cells to stop responding to insulin, therefore not allowing glucose in.

How do I know if I'm insulin resistant?
According to Dr Ben Bikman PhD and expert scientist, educator and auther who devoted his career to this topic, if you can answer YES to one or more of these, you most certainly have I. R.
  • Have more abdominal fat that you'd like.
  • Have skin tags or dark pigmentation around skin folds.
  • Have high blood pressure
  • A family member has heart disease or type 2 diabetes.
  • Have high triglycerides.
  • Have PCOS (women) or ED (men).
  • Retain water easily.
  • If you are told you are pre-diabetic or have T2D.
How Can I Reverse This Problem?

There are a number of different strategies you can use to reverse your IR.  Most importantly, you must control your insulin levels and you can do this in the following ways:

  • Regular Intermittant Fasting.
  • Lowering carbohydrate consumption - particularly processed food.
  • Lowering stress levels on the body.
  • Increasing diverse fiber into your diet.
  • Hydration.
How Does Gut Health Relate to IR?

When gut health is out of balance, inflammation triggers immune pathways that create more insulin resistance through out the body. Click here for more detailed information.
